This course offers in-depth mechanical and electrical training for maintaining and troubleshooting overhead crane systems, focusing on both safety and operational efficiency. Students will gain hands-on experience in diagnosing root causes of abnormal crane tracking and wear, as well as learning proper procedures for component replacement and preventative maintenance. The course also covers crucial electrical elements, including various A.C. crane control types, motor operation analysis, and essential protective circuits. Through rigorous testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices, participants will build the skills needed to enhance crane system reliability and ensure safe operation standards. Upon successful completion, participants will earn a certificate of course completion and contribute to the course evaluation to further enhance training effectiveness.
Course objectives
Mechanical:
- Identify root causes of abnormal tracking and wear in crane systems to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Develop skills in diagnosing and replacing worn crane components to maintain operational reliability.
- Understand component replacement criteria and perform effective adjustments to prolong equipment lifespan.
- Recognize preventative maintenance needs for overhead crane systems to support system longevity and minimize downtime.
- Gain knowledge of proper safety practices, including lockout procedures, to ensure safe working conditions.
Electrical:
- Understand the functions and operations of various types of A.C. crane controls, including speed control and protection circuits.
- Analyze and troubleshoot power, control, and brake circuits within crane systems to maintain optimal performance.

- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
