Rigging Fundamentals, Inspections and Signals - 1 Day
This course is specifically designed for individuals directly involved in rigging loads for crane lifting operations, including rigging personnel and their supervisors who oversee lifting tasks. It provides a comprehensive approach to safe rigging practices, ensuring that participants understand both the practical and theoretical aspects of load handling and safety.
Phelps Dodge AlejandroP.I really liked the exercises in calculating our loads. I also liked the hands on at
the mill and being able to go to the SXEW to see 2 different applications of cranes in the mine.
Phelps Dodge Frank A.(What I liked most about the seminar was...) Hands on and inspection of wire rope and overall crane inspection.
Conoco Phillips MichaelVery friendly, seemed to be well knowledgeable to this work. Broke up class with
enough breaks.
US Steel JeremiahS.(What I liked most about the seminar was...) The course content, tours.
General Motors Charles P.(What I liked most about the seminar was…..) The importance of safety.
Rigging Training Course
Throughout the course, participants will gain in-depth knowledge of essential rigging procedures, and the critical elements required for safe lifting operations. This includes hands-on instruction on assessing load weight, center of gravity, and appropriate rigging techniques to minimize risks. The course also emphasizes the importance of pre-use rigging inspections, guiding participants on how to identify wear and defects in rigging equipment, as well as proper documentation procedures for inspection and maintenance logs, where applicable.
By the end of the course, attendees will have a strong understanding of industry best practices for safe rigging, equipping them to perform their tasks with confidence and to foster a safer work environment for all crane operations.
